12 Prophetic Sign Posts for 2007
Return to Teaching Index

January 2007

---including Media, the Youth Movement, the Emergence of Young Leaders & New Mantles for Healing, Deliverance and Glory!

As I was waiting on the Lord for several days His presence became very strong upon me. While in the midst of this Open Heavens the Holy Spirit began to drop things into my Spirit that we can be expecting and looking for in the coming days. Some God will do sovereignly and some will be ushered in through the prayers of the saints.

Some of the things the Lord spoke to me for 2006 will continue in 2007. Please review our word for 2006 in our archive at www.mattsorger.com.

Here are 12 prophetic Sign Posts to be looking for and praying into.

1. Media outreach will continue to expand and grow in 2007 in both the Christian and secular arena. New media outreaches will be birthed this year. Those whom God has spoken to will begin to take significant steps in walking out the vision of God’s heart for the glorification of Jesus through the media airwaves. It will be a year where God’s power is displayed over the secular networks. Radio, TV and internet will be important media tools for expanding the gospel around the world. There is coming a new thrust in world evangelization through these media outlets. God is going to give creative ideas on how to present the gospel in new and impactful ways. In this last season the Spirit has chosen certain ones to carry a new media mantel upon their lives. That anointing will begin to manifest more and more this year. We will see a ‘media revival’. God is calling us to use every form of technology possible. Hollywood is on God’s map. Well known people in the public eye will come to faith in Christ. Out of their sense of emptiness they will turn to the Lord. We must pray for this. Hollywood will see an invasion of ‘Holy-wood’.
Key Scriptures: Mt. 24:14

2. There is a greater sifting still to come. Recently I was caught into a vision where I saw a dove lighting upon a woman dressed as a bride. It was the Body of Christ. The Dove came and drove her into the wilderness. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said “The sifting is not over. Tell My people not to be shaken by the shaking that is coming.” Everything that can be shaken will be shaken. God is bringing a wave of sifting and purification into the Body so that we are prepared for the Greater Glory that is coming. There is coming a greater sifting in the evangelical segment of the Body of Christ. The Catholic Church has been sifted and is ready for a new wave of revival. The Protestant Church is now being sifted in preparation for a greater glory. In order to receive the level of glory and empowerment God wants to give us in this next season we must first allow Him to sift our hearts so that we are ready to carry the greater glory. Embracing the cross will be essential in this season if we are to also embrace the resurrection power that is coming upon us. It is deeper refinement, for deeper purity, for deeper glory.
Key Scriptures: Mk. 1:12-13

3. It is important to understand the various wildernesses that God walks us through. One is a wilderness of transition. The other is a wilderness of testing. Another is a wilderness of consecration. The fourth is a wilderness of intimacy. And the fifth is the wilderness of rebellion. This fifth wilderness we lead ourselves into by our own actions and choices. The first four God leads us into. In this next season many will be crossing over out of the wilderness of transition and into the fulfillment of promises causing them to receive their inheritance (Ex. 13:17-21; Josh. 3). The wilderness of consecration and intimacy will be important to continually cultivate in our lives (Hos. 2:14-22; Mk 1:35; Lk. 1:80). The wilderness of testing is where I see the Spirit driving the Church into in preparation for the power we are about to come under. What God wants to do in the Church will far surpass anything we have read about in our history books.
Key Scriptures: Mt. 4:1-11; Lk. 4:1-15

4. The season of mixture is over. This began in 2006 and will continue in 2007. God is establishing a pure, strong foundation upon which He can build His Church in this next season. There is a new inward standard of righteousness being raised up. We must be careful to guard our eye gates as darkness continues to increase in the world around us. God is looking for purity of thought, word and deed. There is a greater separation from the world coming in response to the greater exposure of hidden sin and corruption.
Key Scriptures: Mt. 6:22-23

5. There is coming a new standard in the healing movement. God is raising the bar of our faith to believe for greater miracles and works of glory. There is a new mantle of power and glory coming. The Lord recently spoke to me in a dream. In this dream the Lord communicated to me that there is coming a new mantle of glory and power upon the Church for those who will be ready for it. This mantle will be characterized by deep intimacy with the Holy Spirit and great power releasing greater miracles as well as bringing an increase in the number of people healed. The new standard for the healing ministry will be “Jesus healed them ALL”. As we declare and preach the truth of divine healing, more and more will experience healing. God's heart is for all to be healed. This is what we are contending and believing God for.
Key Scriptures: Mt. 8:16; Mt. 12:15; Acts 5:15-16

6. The youth movement will continue to gain momentum and speed. There will be a call to prayer and a lifestyle of holiness. The Holy Spirit will breathe upon youth gatherings this year. Among the young people there will be an uprising and a call to holiness and truth, in response to the hidden sin that will be exposed. The holiness movement will take deeper roots in this generation of young people. A new breed will continue to emerge as leaders. This will be a ‘full gospel’ generation embracing the totality of the gospel message. They will walk in the prophetic, healing, and deliverance, and will be deeply grounded in prayer, holiness and the word. They will carry the message of the ‘full gospel’. The intercession movement will join forces with the power movement releasing a greater glory upon the Church.
Key Scriptures: 1 Tim. 4:12-16; Mt. 10:7-8; 1 Thes. 4:1-8

7. New leaders will continue to emerge and come to a place of influence in the Body of Christ as Fathers and Sons are brought together. Key associations and relationships will emerge and be formed by the Spirit releasing a new generation of leaders. The apostolic will continue to mature and come into a greater manifestation. God is forming a new wineskin to hold the new wine. There will also be the emerging of young apostolic leaders who will be regionally minded in building the Kingdom of God. Regional Centers will be birthed that cross denominational lines bringing the corporate Body of Christ together.
Key Scriptures: Mal 4:5-6; Mt. 9:17

8. God is not looking for carbon copies. He wants originals. He is raising up a new breed, a new model and a new ‘container for the time’. Be careful to allow the Holy Spirit to flow through you in the unique way that He desires. Guard against comparison and be yourself!
Key Scriptures: 2 Cor. 10:12; Mt. 9:17

9. A new mass deliverance anointing is coming. God is going to release such a level of His glory that entire groups of people will be delivered on mass in a single moment. Deep bondages will be broken that are ingrained in the sinful nature. The Holy Spirit will teach people how to live in this new level of freedom. Those that have been struggling in areas of their lives for years will find the freedom they are longing for.
Key Scriptures: Isa 61:1; 1 Cor. 10:13; 2 Cor. 3:16-18

10. God is repairing broken foundations. It will be a year of restoration. Many who have experienced brokenness in the last season will come into a time of restoration. It will be a time of strengthening the foundation and returning to a place of ‘first love’ with the Lord. It will be important to have a very solid, strong foundation for the days ahead. Those who allow ‘cracks’ in their foundations will experience greater brokenness. This brokenness will lead to a deeper turning to the Lord in complete surrender.
Key Scriptures: Psa. 51: 10, 17; Isa. 61:4

11. It will be very important what we sow during this season. We have entered into a season of quick sowing and reaping. Just as Isaac sowed into the land of his inheritance and in the same year reaped a hundredfold return, there will be quick reaping for the seeds we sow. This spiritual law will be seen with both positive and negative seeds. Be guarded and careful with what seeds we sow. Be especially careful in the area of inward attitudes and judgments made against others. With the measure we judge others it will be measured back to us. You can expect a quick harvest of seeds sown in every area of your life, including spiritual and practical.
Key Scriptures: Gen 26:12-13, Mt. 7:1-2

12. There is coming a greater revelation of supernatural finances for the end-time work of the gospel. We will continue to see the manifestation of the end-time transfer of wealth. More and more will walk with a generous spirit of giving birthed out of supernatural revelation and will see God as their Source and Provider for the advancement of the Kingdom.
Key Scriptures: Isa. 60:5; 2 Cor. 9:6-11

Closing Thoughts:

It is important that we allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and make us Kingdom ready in this next season. There is much the Holy Spirit wants to do but He needs yielded vessels that He can use and flow through. There are no limits in God and I pray that as you yield to Him you will experience His limitless power this New Year. May 2007 be an Open Heaven for you! Get your running shoes on. This is a year for the Body of Christ to RUN in all God has put in our hearts to do. He will give you ‘grace for the race’ and empower you to finish strong.

Please take the time to go through the Key Scriptures written above. Pray over them, meditate in them, preach from them and allow the Holy Spirit to write them upon your hearts.

God Bless,
Matt Sorger
